You never stop Gavin, always tweaking, always trying to improve the forum. You definitely put a lot of work into the site.

Are you going with an all white look?

-A
It feels a bit naked, but liking some of the content changes. Have you considered adding shortcut links for the forum topics, at top?
Me likes Gav!

Loving the new minimal look, clutter gone, content focused, sectioned out and quicker!

Rock!
There be the problem [for me anyway] - staying logged in - "no tick me box" and I don't like using the computer to remember everything to keep me logged in incase someone else uses it
someones stolen the stylesheet, and WTF happened to my bananas [same git nick them too?]
It looks good Gav.
Just thought I better update you to point out that if you are a logged in visitor you can reply to a thread by scrolling to the end of it in the message view.

If you don't have a login, then register! Registration is free and easy: http://designers-forum.com/register

Also, for the logged-in visitors there's the extra treat that the board remembers how many posts per category you would like to see on the front page (3, 5, or 10).

By the way, auto-login is coming back very soon Richard!

Why is that the feedback board is choc-a-block with 2 line advertisments and a URLs most of which are for design related things. It's clearly spam and I wouldn't be surprised if it's done by a bot.

Might I suggest using captcha to stop them!
Hi Mark,

The 'bot' is "The Designers Network"!

These postings are made by the reviewing script which I wrote for The Designers Network.

Basically, each morning I check the latest sites that have been submitted by designers and design agencies, of the ones which I think are acceptable for the directory, they are added to the "Links for {date}" section. They are also posted to the forum under the Feedback section incase anyone cares to pass comment on these sites.

The other effect is that those that visit the forum only can still see the latest links added, and because that section is also linked into the RSS feed, people whom are subscribed to that can also see the latest links added.

Have you had a look at my funky captcha? Log out, and then reply to this message...
The new design is great! I've been reading and visiting this site for years but over the past year I haven't really visited much. I didn't see much traffic and it seemed like a select group of people were the only ones keeping TDN alive.. I'm glad you opened forums up again too because I never like to register in order to post.
Thanks for the feedback! I'm altered it to show user names in the main views, and I'll be updating the "Main" category to be "Visual & Graphic Design" a little later (I just have to fix a few URL issues which will occur).

Keep the feedback coming...
Haha so it does!

*starts trace program*
One other thing I have noticed...

In the list of topics... it seems to give my real name as the poster... but still my username at the top of the topic, when opened!

I don't like giving my real name out on the net... 'THEY' might track me down (wears tin hat, and has booby trapped house).
Not been on here for a few weeks now - but am loving the new design and layout.

Like the idea of breaking topics into seperate areas (main. developers, etc).

I'd really like to see a section dedicated to 'visual / graphic design'... just a suggestion ;-)

Keep up the good work.
Just incase anybody gets confused I've merged 3 similar threads together on this topic.
haha i was wondering why i was err confused! :D
Just thought I'd also let you know that you can change which categories are visible to you, so if there is a specific category you don't want to see, simply login, go to View Your Profile then choose Change Profile.

This is only available to visitors who are logged in. If you don't have an account, register! (It's free!) http://designers-forum.com/register

Hi Adriana,

Just to update you incase you haven't already noticed, I have put shortcut links at the top of the page for the various sections. Also, I'm giving the visitor the choice of showing 3, 5, or 10 posts per section just incase the standard 3 was too few. Coming soon: for those visitors logged in, the board will remember their preference.
