Yikes. It's been quiet around here lately. I thought my last post
( http://designers-forum.com/all/10743/re_javascript_libraries_and_functi/ )
would have some very opinionated banter, but I get nothing...

Gav, I know the tides ebb and flow, is this a commonly slow time of year?

Do we need to step up advertising and linking?

Summer holidays and bank holidays.
Yeah, I noticed it was slow as heck all over the Internet. I think people still prefer relaxing on the beach than Googling for more content. Click and Type...Click, Click. Summertime thing...hopefully things will pick up again.

Is slow summers a European thing? : )

I wish it was slow around here at work, but it's as busy as it ever gets right now.

It was also summertime in the US. I think generally speaking, the amount of users online is less during the summer people are on vacation and such. Even on Ebay things seem slower during this time of year. It doesn't mean that we're all on vacation, I haven't been.

Yeah, but several studies show that surfing at work is a BIG demographic. I read one article titled "Is 9 to 5 the new primetime?".

I get it, though. I'd rather be outside right now, yet here I toil away : )

...at least I got a thread in with some actual conversation... ha ha

Hi,

It appears to be a little quiet here now and again. I took the forum posts off The Designers Network (http://www.designers-network.com), so less people are being exposed to the forum. I'll be putting them back up though, to try and drum up more traffic.

One could be forgiven for thinking it's because of the great summer we're having here in the UK, but sadly the rain has been making sure I can't blame that!

Keep checking back regularly and keep replying to threads and messages and we'll grow.

Gav
still slow, maybe its time to start a group on facebook as someone once suggested.
Gav,

Don't happen to have or know of a php rss transform that i might be able to use on a new site i'm doing do you? So i can pimp the board.

Although the current rss is the first post of each entry not a defined length slug, which might be a problem.

Oh and, the rss feed doesn't delete posts. Go look at it, see the two spam, i deleted those this morning.

Hi Paul,

I could write something to your specification which you could use to get the data in the format you require for the forum? The RSS needs some attention which I hope to have for it over the Christmas period.

Drop me an email and we'll see if we can work something out- have a look at The Designers Network - http://designers-network.com/ I have the forum posts listed on there directly from here, so something along those lines would be very easy.

Thanks!
